Wellness Counseling

Self-care is...giving the world the best of you, instead of what's left of you.

Wellness is...Focusing on maximizing quality of life and longevity by learning and Implementing healthy day to day practices.

Happiness is...not about getting all you want, it is about enjoying all you have.

What is Wellness Counseling?

Wellness counseling is different from individual therapy as it involves a shift in perspective from that of treatment to one of prevention. Instead of focusing on interventions for already existing issues and concerns, wellness counseling is more focused on gaining knowledge on general mental and emotional well-being.

Wellness counseling emphasizes the development and maintenance of good mental and emotional health, focusing on areas such as:

  • Increasing motivation
  • Positivity
  • Valued living
  • Happiness
  • Satisfaction in relationships
  • Preventing burnout
  • Peak performance
  • General knowledge / education on how thoughts, feelings, and emotions influence us.

Additional areas of interest may include:

  • Skills for better life balance
  • Organizational skills
  • Increasing healthy self-care
  • Goal-setting
  • Discarding poor habits
  • Meditation practice
  • Mindfulness

Is Wellness Counseling for me?

What could you learn from spending 60-minutes with a psychologist?

Wellness counseling can be helpful for all; however, it would be best suited for individuals who are not currently struggling with specific concerns or challenges and instead are interested in  general emotional and mental well-being. It is also possible that you supplement therapy with wellness counseling if you are interested in more specific wellness skills that are not related to what you are working on in therapy. If you are someone who wants to enhance your life, fine tune your social and emotional skills, or just generally learn more about your emotional and mental health, then wellness counseling would be for you!

The best way to determine if wellness counseling would work for you is to contact me for your complimentary 15-minute consultation!
